Before Digging
Call 8-1-1 before digging. Gopher State One Call (GSOC) is the one-call notification system. Minnesota State Statute requires anyone who engages in any type of excavation to provide at least two working days advance notice. If you are a sub-contractor and you are excavating, protect yourself by obtaining your own one-call ticket. The general contractor’s ticket does not necessarily apply to anyone except them.
If you are a contractor doing work for a homeowner, it is your responsibility (NOT the homeowners) to contact GSOC. The service provided by GSOC to excavators is free of charge. For further information, visit GSOC's website at www.gopherstateonecall.org.
